Religions and Gender Equality’ – Bristol Multi-Faith Forum Open Meeting

This is a  Bristol Multi-Faith Forum Open Meeting, where we will be discussing and exploring  issues around ‘Religions and Gender Equality’. It takes place on Wednesday 25th June, from 6pm for 6.30pm to 8pm at St Werburghs Centre, Horley Road, St Werburghs, Bristol, BS2 9TJ.  This is an open meeting and all are welcome to attend. We will be exploring the role of men and women in different religions. Within this context we’ll be asking questions: Are there separate responsibilities assigned to men and women? Is there room for roles to be reversed? Do any religious texts condone discrimination against women? Join us to discuss and explore issues around ‘Religions and Gender Equality’ For more information please contact Farzana Saker on 07834812663 (mobile) or email info@bristolmultifaithforum.org.uk

The Blood and Organ Donation Campaign Legacy

The Lord Mayor for Bristol (2013 – 2014) Cllr Faruk Choudhury selected the Blood and Organ Donation Campaign as his special project for his year of office. In particular, the Lord Mayor’s aim was to raise awareness and increase blood and transplant donation in Bristol with a particular focus on those groups who are under-represented in the donation service, and whose community members have to wait longer for transplants.

Bristol Multi-Faith Forum has supported the Campaign since its launch in 2013.

On 4th June 2014 a partnership agreement was signed between Bristol City Council and NHS Blood and Transplant. This is the legacy of the campaign – a formal agreement to continue with this vital work.
